Book to board Liverpool’s infamous Ferry ‘Cross the Mersey
Recorded and released in 1964 by Gerry and the Pacemakers for the film of the same name both the song and the subsequent trip have become somewhat of a UK institution. So Stag and Hen Liverpool thought why shouldn’t stags and hens enjoy this institution whilst on their weekends in the city? Therefore we are pleased to offer round trip River Explorer tickets to you and your group to enjoy a spectacular view of the waterfront on the Liverpool side and also the Birkenhead side on a 50 minute trip.
Departing on the hour every hour between 10am and 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday fitting in a cruise on the Ferry Cross The Mersey is very easy to do. You will simply need to get yourselves down to the Pierhead on the waterfront close to the Liver Building as that is where the cruise departs from. Once on board your Ferry will head up the Liverpool side of the waterfront of the River Mersey taking in the famous docks before going across to New Brighton and down the Birkenhead side to Seacombe, on to Woodside and then back to where you started at the Pierhead again. Your tickets allow you travel on the cruise only so please stay on board at every stop.
TIP 1 :- Once on board we suggest making your way outside to the front side of the Ferry as that will give you the best view if the weather is good otherwise you will get equally as good a view from inside the cabin if that pesky rain is around!
TIP 2 :- Our only other tip is to not get confused at The Pierhead as to which place to embark on the Ferry Cross the Mersey trip as with large cruise liners regularly docking close by if you aren’t careful you could end up a lot further away than Birkenhead!
Not a stag or hen group and still want to enjoy a Ferry Cross The Mersey? No problem at all – get in touch and we will happily sort River Explorer tickets!
